BOMBAY SAPPHIRE AT DFS
Travellers at both Auckland and Christchurch International Airports got a treat as they passed through the duty free stores in March and April with free cocktails mixed by our Bombay Sapphire ambassadors. Three options were offered to showcase the quality of Bombay Sapphire gin and its versatility:
- Gin and Tonic
- Royal Sapphire
- Bloody Mary

The staff generated great brand awareness as well as driving trial and sales, which were further incentived by a special two bottle deal with a cocktail shaker as a gift with purchase. Over the two month period thousands of travellers enjoyed their free drink and the promotion was a significant sales driver.
The comprehensive training the ambassadors received meant that they were able to provide a wide range of information about both the Bombay Sapphire brand and gin, with a surprising number of consumers showing a keen interest in the intricacies of the distilling process. While all the combinations were popular, our team reported that the Royal Sapphire was a particular hit, converting many people who claimed not to be gin drinkers.
